Data Release PolicyParticipants in the Genome Projects on-going at VCU have agreed to release sequence information as rapidly as possible as a resource for the entire research community. These data releases do not constitute scientific publication. It is important that users understand that, as in all high throughput sequencing projects, these are unedited and unscreened raw data that contain errors and possible contamination from other species and vector DNA. Raw data will be released on a daily basis. Significant sequence contigs and completed sequence will be released as soon as available. Raw data and contigs will be submitted to GenBank as soon as available. Materials generated in these projects (BAC clones, PAC clones, lambda clones) will be available to interested investigators. Small insert clones (plasmid, M13, etc.) will not be archived indefinitely and therefore will not be available for distribution. Please contact the project leader [Gregory A. Buck, (804) 828-2318] for additional information. Individuals making use of the data from our studies should acknowledge the source of the data in publications. We anticipate publication of the completed annotated genomes in peer-reviewed journals. Please contact the Director of the sequencing effort [Gregory A. Buck, (804) 828-2318] prior to submission of sequences, ORFs or genes on a chromosome or genome scale. NIH New Policy on the Release of Pathogen Sequencing Data
