Welcome

S. sanguinisThis is the official web site of the NIDCR-funded (DE12882) three-year project to determine the genomic sequence of Streptococcus sanguinis. This project commenced July 1, 2000, and is under the direction of Dr. Francis L. Macrina and Dr. Gregory A. Buck. The biology, genetics, and computer analysis and annotation of this project are being carried out at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, involving The Philips Institute in the VCU School of Dentistry (F. Macrina, Director), and the Nucleic Acids Core Facility in the VCU School of Medicine (G. Buck, Director).

This site is designed to provide background on this project as well as serve as the primary source of DNA sequence. Sequence data are posted to the site as they become available. Visitors to the site are urged to read the data release policy by clicking on the appropriate menu bar to the left of this narrative.
